love your job,
your vocation,
you star,
what you serve for,
that in which really
you are one among men,
strive in your work
as if from every detail you think,
Of every word you say
of each piece you place,
of every hammer blow you give,
depended on the salvation of humanity.
Because it depends, believe me.
If forgetting yourself
you do everything you can in your work,
you do more than the emperor who rules
automatically states it;
you do more than the one who invents universal theories
just to satisfy his vanity,
you do more than the politician, than the agitator,
than the one who governs.
You can disdain all this
and the arrangement of the world.
The world would fix itself well,
just with each one
did his duty with love,
in his house.
